1,331 traffic reports: Varna's "On record, no compromise" campaign in numbers

Since August 2025, people in Varna have sent police 1,331 videos and reports of traffic violations; checks on 951 cases are complete, Varna police say.

Published:

Drivers and pedestrians in Varna have sent the police 1,331 reports of traffic violations through the campaign “Na zapis bez kompromis” (“On record, no compromise”) since it started in August 2025, the Varna Regional Police Directorate said on 24 October 2026. Checks have been completed on 951 of them, and 921 senders said they were ready to help identify the offenders.

What do people report most often?

According to the police, the most common videos show:

  • running a red light;
  • ignoring road signs and markings;
  • unsafe overtaking;
  • failing to give way;
  • driving in bus lanes;
  • generally dangerous or risky driving.

How does it work?

Residents upload their recordings through a dedicated platform run by Varna police. Officers then check each case. The police thanked citizens for their activity and urged them to keep reporting, stressing that road safety is a shared responsibility.

How many reports have been checked?

Checks are complete on 951 of the 1,331 reports, about seven in ten, and 921 senders have said they are willing to help establish the violations, according to the figures the police released on 24 October, as reported by Varna24 and Moreto.net. The release does not say how many fines or penalties followed.

Who is behind the campaign?

The initiative is run by the Varna police together with the International Association of Insured and Injured in Road Accidents, the admins of the Facebook page “Vizhdam te KAT Varna”, Varna Municipality, the city bus company Gradski Transport and private security firms. Its aim is to prevent violations, improve road discipline and avoid serious crashes.

What does it mean for drivers in Varna?

Running a red light tops the list of reports. That matters now that Varna is replacing green right-turn arrows with full traffic lights at seven junctions, where turning right on red is a violation — see our report on the new right-turn signals. Driving in bus lanes is also among the most common reports; if you ride the buses yourself, our guide to Varna buses and tickets explains how they work. Tips if you want to report

Only film when it is safe — never while you are driving. Keep the original file with its date and time, and be ready to confirm where it happened if the police contact you.
